THE Q MOTORSPORTS FAMILY STUDENT RACER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE 2004 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS:

All scholarship awards are used by the students for post high school education. The scholarship can be used towards books or tuition at vocational/technical schools, junior college or universities. Criteria for winning the scholarships include three areas. The first area is grades. The second category is motorsports racing and the final category is promotional activities in the community.

The Q Motorsports Family Scholarship Program has awarded approximately $80,000.00 in academic scholarships since 1998.  The program awards scholarships to young motorsports race driver’s ages 5 – 21 that do well in school, are active motorsports drivers and contribute time to their community.  A board of directors who meet annually to determine scholarship winners governs the program.  Current board members include: Leonard A. Your donation will support education for these terrific kids and make it possible for them to continue their education beyond high school. A donation in the amount of $500.00 or more will result in a scholarship named on behalf of the donor. Any size donation is appreciated. Remember 100% of your donation goes to youth scholarships and is fully deductible as allowed by tax laws (a 501 c 3 charity). The Q Motorsports Family is proud to announce the Student Racer Scholarship Program, a 501 (c)(3) charity.

  • Why?
    We are the Q Motorsports Family and we are dedicated to supporting competition in motorsports, academic achievement, community involvement and physical fitness. If you are a student from first grade through high school senior, compete in sanctioned motorsports, and believe in the importance of good grades and helping out in your community, you may be eligible to receive scholarships, prizes & awards as a member of the Q Motorsports Family.

  • Who Qualifies?
    Any student racer in the state of Florida, age 5 to 21, may be nominated by a parent or guardian for membership in the Q Motorsports Family and to compete for the annual Student Racer Scholarship Program. The sanctioned racing venues are as follows: motorcycles, go-carts, motorized water vehicles, radio-controlled cars, QT midgets, drag racing, circle track racing and road racing.

The criteria for winning a Student Racer Scholarship for your race venue follows:

  1. 33 1/3% based on official, certified race results for race year ending December 1st.

  2. 33 1/3% based on certified academic records.

  3. 33 1/3% based on documented, multimedia race-related self-promotional activities, in combination with extracurricular activities, community service participation, as well as charitable and / or church activities.

  • What?
    As a nominee, you will receive the complete Q Motorsports Family Racer Scholarship Program membership kit to assist you in planning your motorsports future and put you in our winner's circle. Look for our quarterly newsletter.

  • When?
    Nominations must be received in our office no later than March 15th. Winners of the Q Family Student Racer Scholarships in each category will be announced during March.

  • Where?
    Our Student Racers of the Year will be honored at a ceremony at Sunshine Speedway, 4500 Ulmerton Rd.,Clearwater, Florida.

The Q Motorsports Family is directed by Leonard A. McCue -a seasoned automobile racer, attorney and former educator - who believes in promoting what he loves most: competition motorsports. Recognizing the importance of education and family values, Attorney McCue created the Q Motorsports Family to reward those racers who can balance their school work with the sport of racing. The Q Motorsports Family also recognizes other important virtues such as community involvement, entrepreneurial efforts, physical fitness & good sportsmanship.
